On 12 August Google announced the eleventh generation of its Pixel phones: Pixel 11, Pro, and Pro XL. Seven features are what actually differ from the previous generation.
The shot that picks itself
The feature worth noticing is called Magic Capture. When you shoot, the phone analyses around four hundred frames and then produces a single 12-megapixel image it considers the best-timed.
Which means the shot is no longer the moment you pressed the button, but the best moment near it.
Night, faster
Instant Night Sight: low-light shooting is up to four and a half times faster — but on the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL only, not the standard model.
AI in the system
The Gemini assistant in this generation carries out multi-step tasks across more than forty apps, with new voice input, sign language converted to written text, and information cards shown at a glance.
With it comes live translation: real-time speech-to-speech translation, with automatic dubbing for video and audio clips.
And Circle to Search now works straight from the camera viewfinder, rather than from a photo after it has been taken.
For people making content
A bundle called Creator Suite holds an on-screen teleprompter, project organisation in folders, composition grid lines, and tools for arranging scenes.
With it, Camera Looks, a set of ready presets with names: Natural, Shadow, Vanilla, Digi, Black Tie, Minimal, Editorial, Classic and Velvet.
Price
Pixel 11 from $899, Pro from $1,099, and Pro XL from $1,299. Pre-orders opened on announcement day, and sales began on 20 August.
The announcement gave no dinar price and no date for Kuwait.
