Kuwait One — KWT.ONE — is a magazine about daily life in Kuwait. It is not a news site, not an events listing, not a government services portal, and not a history site. It is the place where you ask a question about Kuwait and find an answer written in figures rather than impressions.
Four questions the site answers
What’s happening?
A decision issued, a fee changed, a road closed, a deadline running out, an exhibition opening. We take the number, the condition and the date from the body itself, and explain what it means for whoever will be standing in the queue tomorrow. That is the Now section, with Offers for anything that carries a price.
What should I do?
A place to visit, a restaurant to try, something to do at the weekend. We write down the fee, the hours and the entry condition before you leave the house rather than after you arrive. Those are Weekend and Food.
How do I do it myself?
A government transaction, a document required, a fee to pay, a form to fill in. Numbered steps from Kuwait’s official portal and from the bodies themselves, including what usually goes unsaid: the condition that stops the transaction, and the box the table leaves empty. That is How To.
Where did this come from?
The building, the street, the habit, the name. What Kuwait was and how it became what it is. That is Heritage, and with it On This Day — one post each night about what happened on this date.
Alongside those four is a fifth section that is not about Kuwait alone: Tech, covered globally, because the phone in your pocket is the same one everywhere.
How we write
- Every fact from a first source. The official body, the restaurant’s own site, the company’s own blog. A directory is used to find something, and then its source is opened and the piece written from that.
- The number before the description. We do not say “reasonably priced”; we say how much.
- Anything with a date is published before that date. A guide comes ahead of the event, not after it.
- No economic posts, and no repeating a subject already published once.
- A real photograph under a free licence, with a credit line naming the photographer and the licence. No generated images.
- The source is written at the end of every post.
The English edition
The English side of Kuwait One is written for an English-language reader in Kuwait, not translated word for word from the Arabic. The same sources, the same rules, the same figures — read out in a different language.
The name
The site lives on the domain kwt.one and is read Kuwait One. It was previously known in Arabic as Maqalat Al Kuwait, and it is the same name and the same place.
