The Egyptian singer Mohammed Mohsen appears before a Kuwaiti audience on 24 September, in the concert “Al-Mughanna Hayat Al-Rouh”, hosted by the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ali music hall at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre.

He is accompanied by a traditional ensemble led by maestro George Qalta, performing a selection from the classics of Arabic song spanning more than a century. The concert is produced by Free Jabriya.

Why this hall

The Sheikh Jaber Al-Ali music hall is smaller than the National Theatre and closer in design to a tarab evening — a fitting choice for a concert built on the voice and a traditional ensemble rather than on large-scale production.

The concert falls within a season in which the centre marks ten years since it opened in October, presenting a number of names appearing on its stages for the first time.
