The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has published a recall notice on its “vehicle and tyre recalls” page covering three Land Rover models:
- Range Rover — model years 2022 to 2027.
- Defender — 2020 to 2027.
- Discovery — 2021 to 2027.
The fault
The notice reads, in its own words: “the driver’s airbag system may corrode over time.” So the fault is cumulative rather than sudden, and it is in the component an owner never discovers has failed until the moment they need it.
What to do
The stated action is inspection of the vehicle and the appropriate remedy according to the manufacturer’s instructions, free of charge. The contact is Ali Mohammed Thunayan Al-Ghanim and Sons Automotive, hotline 1846464, and the notice asks you to book in advance.
The legal basis, and what it means in practice
The notice is issued under articles 42 to 48 of ministerial decision 27 of 2015, issuing the executive regulations of law 39 of 2014 on consumer protection. Which means the recall is an obligation on the agent rather than a favour, and that inspection and repair carry no charge as long as the vehicle falls within the model years listed.
A detail in the date
The ministry lists this notice under 30 August 2026, a date that had not yet arrived when the page was checked on 25 August. The notice is nonetheless published with complete details, so anyone owning one of these models need not wait for the date to call and book.
The page itself is worth following
This is not an isolated case. The page carries sixteen recall notices since 27 January 2026, this being the latest, and it is the official place where vehicle and tyre recalls in Kuwait are collected. For complaints the ministry’s number is 135, and for enquiries 137.
