GeForce Now runs the game on a remote server and sends the picture to your device, so you need no graphics card at home. Nvidia’s announcements at Gamescom this week are for people who play rather than people who buy hardware.
Five titles on the day they launch
Arriving on the service on release day: CONTROL Resonant, Gears of War: E-Day, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, The Blood of Dawnwalker and STAR WARS Zero Company. So the game does not wait weeks after it comes out.
Thirteen games in one week
Thirteen games were added this week across Steam, GOG, the EA app and Xbox, among them Baldur’s Gate 3, No Man’s Sky, The Witcher 3 and Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2.
Devices joining
- More Fire TV devices, including the Fire TV Stick 4K Select.
- Support for Steam Machine and the Steam Controller in the autumn, then Windows and Mac later.
- Single sign-on with GOG, linking the account and syncing the library automatically.
And in the autumn
DLSS 4.5 tools arrive for top-tier subscribers, with control over upscaling resolution, frame generation and ray reconstruction — so the subscriber adjusts what a card owner used to adjust on their own machine.
And the temporary offer
A twelve-month top-tier subscription includes CONTROL Resonant free, and the offer runs from 25 August to 27 September.
