Dar Hamad’s menu is divided by the clock rather than by course. Open the site after one in the afternoon and there is no balaleet at all; open it before one and there is no machboos. Here is how the split works, from the restaurant’s own ordering site on 6 September 2026.
Two windows, not one
Every breakfast section — the meal box, the mughamasat, the hot appetisers, the eggs, the breakfast sweets — is sold daily from 8am to 12.30pm only.
Every main-course section runs from 1pm to 11pm. Drinks alone stretch from 8am to 11pm.
Breakfast prices
Balaleet KD 1.950. Kuwaiti mahalabia 2.000. Girs aqeeli 2.950. Date pudding 4.500. The meal box 6.500. Chicken shawarma 3.500, and prawn hamsa 4.900.
Lunch prices
Chicken machboos 4.950. Meat machboos 6.450. Chicken biryani 5.950. Mashwi jidr 7.950.
The same dishes for three to four people: chicken machboos KD 17, meat machboos 22, chicken biryani 18, mashwi jidr 25.
The warmers, and the three-hour rule
The sakhanat section for five people carries a stated three-hour lead time: chicken machboos KD 23, meat machboos 34, mashwi jidr 35, and a forty-two-piece appetiser selection at 16.
That condition is the practical difference between ordering for a gathering and ordering for dinner: order at six and you will not eat at seven.
Sold without cooking
Frozen mezze by the bag: a small chanta KD 23 and a large one 45. Dill kibbeh by the dozen 3.750.
The maabij relishes are a section of their own at KD 3.950 each: bumbar pickle, mountain garlic in pomegranate molasses, and chalet. A maabij box is 27 with an hour’s notice.
What we do not know
The site gives no founding year and no owner’s name. We do not know whether the 12.30 breakfast cut-off applies in the dining rooms as well as to orders. The site does not say whether prices include service and delivery. And the branch list and addresses are not on the site; what circulates in restaurant directories is not a first-party source.
