Google published the September Android drop on 1 September 2026, with five features in it. Two of them are worth real attention, and one has not arrived yet.
A bubble against car sickness
Motion Assist puts an on-screen overlay carrying a bubble that moves with the vehicle, to reduce motion sickness for a passenger looking at their phone. Its appearance can be changed and it can activate automatically.
It is for Android 17 only. We do not know which phones sold in Kuwait today run Android 17, because Google publishes no device list.
Gemini remembers where you put things
Tell Gemini where you put your passport or your keys, and the location is stored in Find Hub for you to retrieve later. It is available on Android 16 and newer, in countries where Gemini and Find Hub are available.
And here is the gap that matters to a Kuwaiti reader: Google writes “in countries where it is available” and publishes no list of those countries. We found no table, so we cannot say the feature works in Kuwait.
Describing your surroundings aloud
Guided Vision in Gemini Live gives a real-time spoken description of your surroundings through the camera, with voice guidance for aiming it. It was built with blind and low-vision communities and runs on Android 9 and newer. Its status is “coming soon” — it has not shipped.
Google has said nothing about Arabic support for it.
And two in Messages
Google Keep inside Google Messages: create notes and lists, share them and co-edit them without leaving the conversation. Rollout began on the day of the announcement.
And custom chat themes: a wallpaper and photo per conversation, with text bubble colours matched automatically. Available now.
Announced ahead of arriving
Aamir Siddiqui at Android Authority noted the same day that several of these actually began rolling out in August, and that the wider rollout beyond Pixel phones is still pending.
Abner Li at 9to5Google reported on 4 September that this month’s Google System Updates carried only Android System Intelligence B.29 and C.7, dated 3 September, described as bug fixes and maintenance. He warned that a feature appearing in a changelog does not mean it is widely available; some take months.
The practical summary
Three of the five are in your hands today if your phone is recent enough. Two are waiting: one has not shipped, and one we cannot confirm works from Kuwait at all.
