The Kuwait Philatelic and Numismatic Society is showing Arabic Calligraphy on Kuwaiti Stamps on 22 September at seven in the evening, at the society’s rooms inside the Jabriya post office.
What is on display is the personal collection of a society member, Ahmad bin Hussein.
The opening is held under the patronage of Sheikha Hala Badr Al-Mohammad, an honorary member of the society.
The society’s secretary, Issa Dashti, places it in a run of events the society puts on to argue that a postage stamp is a document holding part of the country’s history, culture and art, rather than a way of moving letters.
