Kuwait’s largest museum complex sits on Baghdad Street in Salmiya. It was opened by Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad on 5 February 2018 at Shaab Al-Bahri, and it is a place you visit on a day pass rather than a timed slot.
The ticket. A One-Day Pass costs KD 3 for adults aged 18 and over, KD 2 for juniors under 18, and KD 1.500 for visitors aged 60 and over. Children under two enter free. The pass is valid for a single entry — step outside and it will not bring you back in.
Tickets for visitors with special needs, and for their chaperons, are not sold online. They are bought at the centre itself.
The hours. Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 20:00, with last admission at 19:00. Friday is an afternoon only: 14:00 to 20:00, last admission 19:00. Sunday does not appear in the published schedule.
The centre notes that hours change on national holidays and special occasions, so those are days to confirm before setting out.
The planetarium and Kashef. Neither has a published timetable on the booking portal. Showtimes are given at the museum helpdesk, and the last show of the day is at 19:00 — which in practice means arriving at six costs you the show.
If you are a group. Bookings for more than twenty visitors, and all school visits, are arranged in advance through the call centre on 22222211, not through the website.
Booking. Choose the visit date first on the centre’s ticket portal; the ticket types and prices appear after that. Changing the date of a booked visit is done through a form, not a phone call.
