Eight Kuwaiti milestones from the fourth of the month: the 1963 Baghdad minutes, the 1993 municipal council vote, and the cabinet's approval of Subiya city in 1998.

1963 — The Baghdad minutes on restoring relations

Kuwait and the Republic of Iraq signed minutes in Baghdad on the restoration of friendly relations, recognition and related matters. The document was deposited as an official record of the United Nations.

1993 — Ten seats on the municipal council

Kuwaiti voters went to the polls to elect ten members of the municipal council from fifty-three candidates. The new council held its first meeting on the eighteenth of the month and elected Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Shayea as its chairman.

1998 — Cabinet approves the city of Subiya

The Council of Ministers approved the creation of the city of Subiya, together with a bridge linking Kuwait City and Subiya.

2011 — An award for Dr Mohammed Al-Jarallah

The Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, received Dr Mohammed Ahmed Al-Jarallah on his winning the 2011 prize for outstanding scientist and designer in modern innovation, awarded by the International Council for Research Development in Britain.

2011 — Kuwait asks the Security Council to act

Kuwait called on the Security Council to issue a resolution referring the crimes committed by Israel against Palestinians to the criminal court.

2011 — School exams move back to the school

The Ministry of Education announced changes to the examination system: the first and third periods would be set at school level rather than standardised across the educational district.

2012 — A 107 million dinar substation contract

Kuwait Oil Company announced a contract with SK Engineering and Construction of Korea worth 107 million dinars, for new and central electrical substations in the south and east of the country.

2014 — Karate gold at the Incheon Asian Games

Rashed Al-Mutairi took the gold medal in the over-84kg karate event at the Asian Games in Incheon.
