The Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre is staging The Eighties… The Knockout at its National Theatre six times between 12 and 17 October 2026. Only one of those performances starts in daylight: Friday 16 October at 4:00pm. The show runs 120 minutes including a 20-minute interval, so that matinee lets out at around 6:00pm.
Performances
As listed on the Centre’s booking page:
- Monday 12 October, 8:30pm
- Wednesday 14 October, 8:30pm
- Thursday 15 October, 8:30pm
- Friday 16 October, 4:00pm and 8:30pm
- Saturday 17 October, 8:30pm
That gives the weekend three chances: two on Friday and one on Saturday night.
Tickets and age
Seats start at KD 20, booked through tickets.jacc-kw.com or the JACC app. The show is for ages 10 and up, and anyone outside the age band printed on the ticket is turned away at the door. Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable unless the performance is cancelled or postponed.
Getting there on time
Doors open 60 minutes before the start and close 10 minutes before it, so for the Friday matinee you need to be through by 3:50pm. Late entry is allowed only at points the Centre sets for each show.
The dress code is smart casual. No food or drink in the auditorium and no professional cameras. The Centre also warns that posting your ticket barcode on social media before the show can get the booking cancelled.
What the show is
A live-music trip through 1980s television and the songs that came with it. The Centre has staged it three times in earlier seasons; this run is part of its 10th-anniversary programme, with a reworked production by director Jassim Al-Qames and a large ensemble conducted by Dr Khaled Noori. The Centre bills it as the last chance to see the production.
The National Theatre is inside the Centre on Arabian Gulf Street.
