Night-time phone outages possible as two Kuwait exchanges get maintenance

Sabah Al-Salem on 12 October and Fahaheel on 14 October, midnight to 6am, the Ministry of Communications says.

The Ministry of Communications will carry out maintenance on two telephone exchanges next week and warns that telecom services may be disrupted while the work is under way.

When

  • Sabah Al-Salem exchange: Monday 12 October 2026, midnight to 6am.
  • Fahaheel exchange: Wednesday 14 October 2026, midnight to 6am.

What it means for you

Midnight on Monday is late Sunday night, so the Sabah Al-Salem window runs through the night of Sunday into Monday, and the Fahaheel window through the night of Tuesday into Wednesday.

If your landline runs through either exchange and you rely on it overnight, for an alarm panel that dials out or a home internet connection you need at night, line up a fallback beforehand, such as a mobile number or a data bundle. The announcement did not say which areas each exchange serves, or whether service will drop completely or only in part.

The ministry described the work as routine maintenance of the telecom network.
