Kuwait’s Ministry of Justice lets anyone look up a case online without logging in, but its “judicial inquiry” page first wants to know which number you are holding. A case picks up a different number at every stage, from the police station to the prosecution, the court, the experts’ department and finally enforcement, and the page has a separate search for each.
Where to start
Go to eservices.moj.gov.kw and open “Judicial Inquiry” (الاستعلام القضائي; the portal is in Arabic). Every search ends with typing the digits shown in a verification image.
The six searches and what each one asks for
- Automated case number: one box. If you have this number, it is the quickest route.
- Police station case number: the number, the year, the station (the list runs to more than two hundred stations and units) and the case type, such as misdemeanours, juvenile cases, or traffic and municipality penal orders.
- Prosecution case number: the number, the year, the prosecution office and the case type.
- Court case number: the court (the Capital court, Hawalli, Ahmadi, Jahra and others), the circuit, chosen from a long list that includes personal status and payment orders, then the year and the number.
- Experts’ department intake number: one box.
- Enforcement file number: the number plus the enforcement office and section together, for example “Ahmadi – Rents”.
In the station, prosecution and court searches, the year list starts at 2020 and offers nothing earlier.
No number at all?
This page cannot search without one. The alternative is an account on the same portal, which offers individual login with a Civil ID number and a “new user registration” option.
After the lookup
The same page has tabs for circuits and hearings, experts and enforcement, and the portal has an e-payment service, “Tasdeed”, for settling amounts due.
