Interior Ministry to chalet, farm and building-plot owners: your guard must be on your sponsorship
Check residency, absconding reports, court rulings and security flags before hiring, or face legal action

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior on the evening of Sunday 1 November 2026 warned owners of plots under construction, chalets, livestock pens (jawakhir) and farms not to employ anyone as a guard, or let anyone live on the property, without first confirming that the person’s residency and legal status are in order.
What the ministry asks
- The guard must be sponsored by the property owner, or by the company responsible for the construction work.
- Before taking someone on, the owner should make sure there is no absconding report, court ruling or security restriction against them.
- No one may be employed or housed in breach of the residency and labour laws.
The warning is aimed at owners: they are the ones who hire or house the guard, and the ones expected to check first. Anyone who breaks the rules faces legal accountability, the ministry said, without naming a specific penalty.
