On 1 September the Interior Ministry ended the exceptional automatic extensions it had been granting on visit visas of every category, and on the leave permits held by residents who are outside the country. The statutory periods returned to what the regulations set out, and the usual procedures returned with them.
Who it applies to
- Visit visas of all categories, for people inside Kuwait.
- Leave permits for residents who are outside Kuwait.
The one exception
Anyone who left the country on 31 August or earlier keeps the exceptional extension under the applicable rules.
Where to read your date
The ministry named a single reference and no other: the residency status certificate in the Sahel app. The date shown on it is the expiry date of the leave permit, and a resident abroad must return before it.
