Labour Circuits Move to Jahra, Civil Cases from Farwaniya to Hawalli

New filings moved on 1 September; the transfer completes on 1 October.

The Ministry of Justice has redistributed several judicial circuits between the governorate courts under Decisions 44 and 45 of 2026. From 1 September the courts losing a circuit stopped registering new cases in it, and registration began at the receiving court. The transfer completes on 1 October.

What moved, and where

  • All higher labour circuits: from the governorate courts to Jahra Court.
  • All higher civil circuits: from Farwaniya Court to Hawalli Court.

What it means for you

A new case is filed at the new court. For cases already filed before 1 September no explicit rule has been announced, so check with the registry of the court where the case was filed before your hearing date.
