beyerdynamic announced the AVENTHO Y at IFA in Berlin at the start of September 2026: a wireless over-ear headphone with active noise cancelling. The claim its whole pitch rests on is really two claims — how long the battery lasts, and the fact that you can replace it.
The battery
The company states more than 90 hours of playback, and more than 60 with noise cancelling on. The cell is 650 mAh, sits in the left cup under a magnetically attached ear cushion, and is user-replaceable.
That last point matters more than the number. Most wireless headphones end their life when the sealed battery does, not when the sound goes.
What it supports, and what it does not
Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint. For codecs, SBC and AAC only — no aptX, no aptX Adaptive, no LDAC. That is what the spec table on beyerdynamic’s own site says, and reviewers have said so plainly.
The rest of the numbers
316 grams without a cable, frequency response 20 to 20,000 Hz, range up to 20 metres, USB-C for charging. The driver is a 45 mm dynamic unit. It is not the STELLAR.45 driver; that belongs to the pricier AVENTHO 300, and more than one site has confused the two.
On charging, the two German reviews put a full charge at about an hour and say five minutes gives roughly six hours of playback. beyerdynamic does not publish either figure, so we attribute them to the reviews.
What testers found
Carsten Kaiser at Kopfhoerer.de, on 3 September 2026, scored it four out of five, weighed it at 319 grams rather than 316, described the noise cancelling as removing the roar of large fans without audible artefacts, and called the sound dynamic, warm and detailed enough, with an occasional boominess in the bass from the closed housing.
Sven Wunderlich at AreaDVD, on 4 September, said the two noise-reduction microphones strip out most ambient noise very effectively, counted fifteen steps of headband adjustment, and noted magnetic imitation-leather pads with optional velour ones.
And in Kuwait
We could not find a single Kuwaiti retailer listing it. A search for beyerdynamic on Xcite returns no products at all; AX Store carries the brand but not this model; Amazon.ae returns replacement ear pads and not the headphone. beyerdynamic sells it direct at 149 euros in its European shop and 149.99 dollars in North America.
That is roughly 53 dinars at today’s rate — an unofficial conversion, not a Kuwaiti price.
