The Ministry of Health is bringing seven specialists into Kuwait during October under its Visiting Doctors programme. They will run clinics, give consultations and operate inside government facilities, which matters if you have been told a procedure you need is not routinely done here.
Who is coming
- Dr Jamal Ali Al-Asiri (Saudi Arabia) — foot and ankle orthopaedics.
- Dr Paris Tekkis (United Kingdom) — colorectal surgery.
- Dr Nicholas Johannes Wascher (Germany) — endoscopic correction of bone deformity.
- Dr Raed Reda Mustafa Abu Hussein (Germany) — spinal endoscopy.
- Dr Mustafa Hamdy (Belgium) — plastic and burns surgery.
- Dr John Byeo Hooey (South Korea) — microsurgery, plastics and lymphoedema.
- Dr Omar Adel Raheem (United States) — urology.
How to get an appointment
The visits are spread across different stretches of the month rather than falling in a single week. The ministry has named two routes for seeing the schedule and reserving a slot in advance: the Salem app, or Sahel, the unified government app most residents already have for civil ID and other paperwork.
Worth knowing
This is a one-month programme, and each doctor is in the country for only part of it. If one of these fields is relevant to you, move when the schedule appears in the app rather than after the month has run out.
