Rent allowance debt deducted at work? The stop request now goes through Sahel

The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has added a service to the Sahel app that lets citizens ask for rent allowance debt to stop being collected through their employer, without visiting the authority in person.

Who it is for

Citizens whose employer is deducting a rent allowance debt owed to PAHW from their salary, and who want to request that the collection stop. The request goes to the relevant department for review, so sending it does not by itself halt the deduction.

How to apply

  1. Open Sahel and tap Services.
  2. Choose the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, then Rent Allowance Services.
  3. Pick the request to stop collecting rent allowance debt from the employer.
  4. Fill in the required details, name the employer making the deduction, add any notes, and submit.

After you submit

A message confirms the transaction was received and passed to the competent department. A Sahel notification follows once the request is accepted for review, you can track its status in the app, and another notification arrives when it is approved.

The announcement did not mention a fee, a review time, or which cases qualify.
