The upper ball on the main Kuwait Tower, on Arabian Gulf Street, is not an ornament — it is a room you can sit in. Touristic Enterprises Company, which runs the site, says the sphere stands more than 120 metres above sea level and that its floor is a revolving platform completing a 360-degree turn every 30 minutes. You do not walk around the view; the view walks around you.
Tickets, on the company’s own booking site: KD 3 for an adult, KD 1.5 for a child, with the child rate set for ages four to nine. Booking runs as a single daily window from 8:00 in the morning to 11:00 at night, every day. The company’s activity page puts the sphere’s own hours at 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm and notes a cafeteria inside for snacks and cold drinks.
For a first visit, go late. After dark the city is lit, the Gulf below is black, and one slow revolution carries the waterfront, Al Hamra Tower and the whole of Kuwait City past your table without you moving. Book online rather than queueing at the window, and allow for the full half-hour if you want to see the complete circle.
