Qozina’s qoozi needs six hours: a quarter Australian lamb is KD 40

Qozina is a kitchen that specialises in Kuwaiti food. It sells single plates and large trays for gatherings through its own website, and it lists next to every dish how long it takes to prepare. If you are ordering for a family lunch, that is the first number to look at.

Qoozi: six hours

On Qozina’s menu, qoozi is lamb over pine-nut rice with stuffing, nuts and gravy, and it needs six hours. The price depends on the size and the breed:

  • Quarter Australian lamb on one tray: KD 40, with gravy and service for five and three kinds of ma’abeej (spicy side sauces).
  • Half Australian lamb, shoulder and leg on two trays: KD 75, for ten.
  • Whole Australian lamb on four trays: KD 155, for twenty, with 12 kinds of ma’abeej.
  • Arabic Nuaimi lamb: KD 50 for a quarter, KD 95 for a half, KD 190 for a whole.
  • Mini qoozi, a slow-cooked lamb shoulder for up to four: KD 26.900, four hours.

From the sea: murabyan and mutabbaq

The fish section has murabyan, shrimp with dill rice served with daqoos and pickled cucumber; mutabbaq in three versions, with zubaidi (silver pomfret), Kuwaiti hamour or sea bass; and shrimp mumawash. A mutabbaq tray takes three hours, murabyan two.

Single plates

Single plates take two hours: Australian lamb majboos with pine nuts at KD 4.750, Qozina majboos with lamb neck at KD 6, bukhari with slow-cooked lamb neck at KD 7.900, Al-Muttahida chicken majboos at KD 3.500, Sadia chicken majboos at KD 2.950, murabyan at KD 4.750 and zubaidi mutabbaq at KD 5.950. Balaleet, among the sides, is KD 2.750.

Most dishes come with ma’abeej, daqoos (Kuwaiti tomato sauce) and gravy.

Prices and preparation times as listed on Qozina’s website on 27 October 2026; orders go through the site.
