Ahmadi residency office now serves elderly and disabled visitors from their cars

The Residency Affairs Department in Ahmadi Governorate has opened a drive-through lane for older people and people with disabilities. Kuwaitis and expats in either group can now finish their paperwork without leaving their car or walking into the building.

Why it exists

The Interior Ministry says the lane is meant to save time and effort for both groups, and that it also eases the traffic of people coming and going around the department.

The service was opened in the presence of the department’s director, Colonel Mohammad Saleh Al-Nimash, and his deputy, Colonel Mohammad Sabah Al-Mukaimi.

What has not been announced

The ministry has not said which transactions can be handled from the car, what hours the lane runs, or whether other governorates’ residency offices will follow. If you want to be sure before you drive over, watch the Interior Ministry’s official accounts.
