The community development centres run a series of art and craft workshops aimed at Kuwaiti girls and women, and the stated purpose is economic empowerment — the craft is taught to become a source of income, not a hobby.
The fee
Zero. No fixed fee and no variable one.
The three conditions
- The participant must be a Kuwaiti national.
- Attending for the whole duration of the workshop — no partial attendance.
- Registering two weeks before the workshop runs. That is the clause that costs people their place: anyone asking about a workshop in its own week has missed it.
The paperwork
A copy of the civil ID, and nothing else. The procedure is filling in a participation form.
Why it is mentioned alongside “productive families”
The same community development centres also run marketing exhibitions for productive families — so in principle the path is complete: you learn the craft in the workshop, then the product is shown at the exhibition. Anyone who has been through the workshop knows the second door.
