Kuwait’s consulate general in Istanbul has told Kuwaitis in the city to take care while heavy rain moves across Istanbul and the Marmara region.
What the consulate asked for
Stay away from places where water collects, avoid travelling around unless you need to while the rain is heaviest, and follow the warnings and instructions the Turkish authorities put out.
If you need help
The consulate asked citizens to contact it directly when they need to, and to take their information about the weather from its official channels only — guidance circulating from an unofficial account does not count.
The wider picture
Turkish official forecasts point to the heavy rain continuing over Istanbul and Marmara, with warnings about its effect on traffic and getting around. Anyone flying out to the city shortly would do well to leave slack in the day’s plans for delays on the roads.
