Khiran Resort for the day: KD 2.5 at the gate, open 8am to 11pm
Families only, about 110 km south of Kuwait City, with chalets bookable online for a night or two
You do not need a chalet to spend a day at Khiran Resort. The Touristic Enterprises Company, which runs it, sells a daily entry ticket for KD 2.5 through its app, and the resort is open to visitors from 8am to 11pm.
Getting there
The resort sits in the Khiran area in the far south, about 110 km from Kuwait City. It runs along 1,800 metres of seafront and covers more than 789,000 square metres of lawns and sandy beach. It opened in February 1987.
The resort map on its website shows a pool, restaurants, children’s playgrounds and a games arcade, alongside the rows of beach chalets and the marina.
Before you go
- Entry is for families only; groups of young men on their own are not admitted.
- No outside food, loudspeakers, pets, large inflatables or surfboards.
- The ticket terms ban photography of any kind.
- Children under 10 must be accompanied in the swimming areas, and non-swimmers may not swim.
- Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable; keep yours until you leave.
Staying the night
Chalets are booked on the resort’s website: pick your check-in and check-out dates, then choose a chalet from the resort map. For this weekend that means Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 October. The company’s phone line is 1806806.
