Kuwait airport charges now itemised on your ticket: seven fees worth about KD 10

Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered every airline and travel agent operating in the country to show Kuwait International Airport’s charges on the ticket line by line, with each charge’s code and amount. The rule is set out in circular No. 58 of 2026, issued on 19 October.

DGCA spokesman Abdullah Al-Rajhi told the Kuwait News Agency that the charges are not all new: some have applied for a while and some were introduced recently. The point, he said, is that passengers can see what they are paying for when they book.

The charges listed in the circular

  • Passenger baggage scale fee: KD 1.
  • Departure fee: KD 3.
  • Arrival fee: KD 2.
  • Passenger transit fee: KD 1.
  • Airport departure tax: KD 2.
  • Passenger registration system fee: 620 fils for departing and transfer passengers, 310 fils for transit passengers.
  • Advance passenger information (border security) fee: 620 fils.

Together they come to roughly KD 10 per ticket, according to DGCA sources quoted by Al-Anba.

What it means when you book

You are entitled to see each airport charge on its own line, rather than one lump sum under “taxes and fees”. The breakdown also matters if you cancel or ask for a refund, subject to your fare rules.

The DGCA says it may add or change charges, and that any airline or agency that does not comply will be referred to its complaints and arbitration committee.
