A single table on Kuwait’s portal gathers the emergency numbers and hotlines. Memorising it is easier than searching for it when you need it — and reading it also shows where the information runs out.
The number that replaces three
112 is the unified emergency number: police, ambulance and fire together. One number rather than three, and the first thing everyone in the house, young and old, should know.
The short numbers
- 112 — emergency, police, ambulance and fire.
- 152 — electricity and water emergencies.
- 150 — Ministry of Public Works hotline.
- 151 — Ministry of Public Health hotline.
- 139 — Kuwait Municipality hotline.
- 135 — Ministry of Commerce and Industry complaints.
- 161 — Kuwait International Airport.
- 114 — the Public Institution for Social Security telephone service.
- 175 — the Zakat House call centre.
- 133 — the instant response system at the Civil Service Commission, with 1828888.
Longer numbers for particular bodies
1804000 for civil defence, 1884141 for the General Department of Drug Control, and 1880888 for the General Administration of Coast Guard.
Public Works: a number per governorate
Alongside the 150 hotline, the table gives an emergency centre number for each governorate: Capital, Hawally, Mubarak Al Kabeer, Farwaniya, Ahmadi and Jahra. Hawally alone has seven numbers in its box, the Capital three, Ahmadi three, and Jahra three.
It also carries the citizen service office number in the public relations department: 25304428, and operations: 24834044.
Three empty boxes
Here the table falls short. In the Kuwait Municipality emergency centres section, three boxes carry no number at all: Capital emergency, Farwaniya emergency and Jahra emergency. What is given: City emergency 1844448, Hawally 25715301, Mubarak Al Kabeer 1854444, and Ahmadi 50833484.
The Ahmadi number alone begins with fifty, meaning it is a mobile rather than a landline. Worth knowing if nobody answers.
The practical advice
Save 112, 152 and 139 in your phone now. As for the governorate numbers, it is enough to know they are on this page, and that the body’s hotline is the way out when your governorate’s box is empty.
