Penguins 3D at the Scientific Center IMAX: 25 minutes, and KD 6 gets you in

The Scientific Center in Salmiya is screening Penguins 3D on its IMAX screen: a 25-minute documentary that follows a pair of African penguins on Boulders Beach in South Africa, from the day they meet to the nest they build.

Showtimes

Screenings alternate between English and Arabic. On Friday 23 October the schedule reads:

• English: 10:10, 11:30, 12:50, 14:10, 15:30, 16:50, 18:10, 19:30 and 20:50.
• Arabic: 9:30, 10:50, 12:10, 13:30, 14:50, 16:10, 17:30, 18:50, 20:10 and 21:30.

Times change from day to day, so check the IMAX schedule page on the centre’s website before you set off.

Tickets

There is no stand-alone IMAX ticket on the booking site. The film comes with TSCK Entry Plus at KD 6 per person (ages 2 and up), which gives one entry each to IMAX, the Mijbil Al-Mutawa Aquarium, World of Science, Power of Play and the Scientific Gallery. The time printed on the ticket is only when your visit starts; the ticket stays valid until closing. Book at tickets.tsck.org.kw.

Make a weekend of it

• Penguin Show: Saturday at 3:30pm (and Wednesday at 5pm), included in the entry ticket.
• Shark Show: Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 5:30pm, 20 minutes.
• Star Show in the dome: Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 6pm.

• Open: every day, 9am to 10pm.
• Where: the Scientific Center on the Salmiya seafront.
