A Kuwaiti brand in the full sense, and established as one from its own site rather than anyone else’s: the Our Story page says the shop opened in 2004, that its founders are Nouf Al Mutawa and Bibi Al Sabah, and that it began in a home kitchen.
The timeline as it publishes it
2004, the first branch at Marina Mall. 2006, Al Bida’a. Between 2007 and 2012, the Avenues and Al Hamra, and in that stretch the Gooey was created. 2014, delivery launched. 2019, The Ice Cream Bar launched. 2024, the twentieth year.
For that twentieth year it ran a national birthday-song competition with a 20,000 dinar prize, with Humood AlKhudher and Talal Sam taking part, won by Abdallah AlShatti, and a finale at Al Murooj.
The branches
Six, listed with phone numbers on its branches page: Argan Al Bida’a; Al Murouj in Sahara phase two; The Avenues phase four; Al Assima Mall; 360 Mall in the new expansion, floor M2; and the American University in Egaila. The head office is in The View Tower, floor 17, Salem Al Mubarak Street, Salmiya, telephone 1818777.
Prices from its own ordering site
The Chocolate Bar’s Fondue 6.500 dinars. The Candy Bar Fondue and the gluten-free fondue 6.750. Molten Chocolate Cake, Melted Nutella Cake, Chocolate Truffle Cake and Banoffee are all 3.950. The Gooey, a hot chocolate cake in a cup, is 4.250.
The cheapest thing on the menu is a white coffee at 1.100, a soft drink at 1.000, and french fries at 1.950. The dearest single item is a one-litre classic vegan hot chocolate with cookies at 17.500.
If you are ordering for a group
The gathering trays run from 16 to 21 dinars, with pasta trays at 19.500 and lasagne bolognaise at 21.000. The menu runs to eighteen sections.
Ordering goes through six channels: its own site, Talabat, Deliveroo, ordable, V-Thru and bilbayt.
What the site does not say
Branch opening hours are not published anywhere. There are no calorie figures and no allergen data. We do not know whether all six branches serve the full food menu. And the founders are named for 2004; the company operating it today is not.
