Thundery rain possible at the weekend, with fog every night to Sunday

An overnight warning from the Meteorological Department expired at 7:45 this Thursday morning, 29 October 2026. It covered scattered rain, thundery at times, and gusts above 50 km/h over some areas. The station at Kuwait International Airport measured 1.93 mm of rain in the 24 hours to its 4:14 am reading.

The wet spell is not over. The forecast keeps a chance of rain on every day through Sunday, turning thundery at times on Saturday and Sunday, and fog forms over some areas each night.

Day by day

• Thursday 29 October: high 35°C, low 22°C. Rather hot and humid, partly cloudy to cloudy, with a chance of scattered light rain and fog after dark.
• Friday 30 October: high 35°C, low 21°C. A chance of scattered rain, and fog at night.
• Saturday 31 October: high 37°C, low 22°C. A chance of rain, thundery at times, and fog at night.
• Sunday 1 November: high 37°C, low 22°C. A chance of thundery rain at times, and fog in places.

Temperatures are for the airport station. Humidity swings from about 25% in the afternoon to 95% overnight, and runs higher along the coast.

Wind and sea

Winds are variable, settling south-easterly, at 8–40 km/h. Seas are slight to moderate today, one to four feet by day and one to three feet at night.

Before the storms

Never drive into a flooded underpass: thirty centimetres of moving water is enough to float a car. And if the basement pump and the drains have not been checked since summer, this is the week to do it.
