Ministry of Justice opens junior legal researcher posts, the entry route to the public prosecution

Kuwait’s Ministry of Justice began taking applications on Sunday 1 November 2026 for the post of junior legal researcher (باحث قانوني مبتدئ). It is the door into the public prosecution: successful candidates join on the civil-service scale, complete a training course at the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, and are then moved up to deputy prosecutor, grade C. The window is open to Kuwaiti men and women and closes at the end of Monday 30 November 2026. Late applications are not considered.

Who can apply

  • Kuwaiti nationals by origin.
  • Holders of a law degree from Kuwait University, or an equivalent recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education, who graduated in the 2025/2026 academic year only.
  • A GPA of at least 2.67 out of 4, or 80% on a percentage scale, or the equivalent in other systems.
  • No older than 26 at the date of graduation.
  • No previous application for this post, and no previous job using the degree, in government or the private sector, registered with the Public Institution for Social Security.
  • Good conduct and no disciplinary or criminal conviction for a felony or a misdemeanour involving honour or trust, even if rehabilitated.
  • Medically fit, and able to pass a written test and then an interview. Only those who pass the test are called to interview.

Documents, all as PDF

  • Copies of the civil ID, birth certificate and nationality certificate.
  • A recent certificate from the Public Institution for Social Security.
  • A certificate of no criminal record.
