The Public Authority for Housing Welfare is preparing to hand twenty-one school buildings in Al-Mutlaa over to the Ministry of Education: ten kindergartens, five primary schools, four intermediate schools and two secondaries, one for boys and one for girls.
The first batch
Six buildings are due on 19 November — four kindergartens, one primary and one boys’ intermediate. Construction on these six is between 81 and 98 per cent complete.
The rest
The remaining fifteen start arriving early next year. Four are due on 13 February: two kindergartens and the two secondaries. The others follow in stages between April and August 2027.
What it means if you live there
The authority is working to finish every handover before the 2027-2028 academic year opens, which gives the ministry time to furnish the buildings and bring them into service. Furniture is being ordered now. When each building actually opens still depends on how populated that part of Al-Mutlaa is and the number of pupils expected, and transfers into Al-Mutlaa schools continue throughout the year.
