Opening a housing care file is not an online transaction you finish from your phone. It is a visit to the citizen service department at the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, and you leave with a single piece of paper: the review slip. What stops most people is not the procedure but one missing document out of six.
What to take with you
- A copy of the civil ID for both husband and wife.
- The marriage contract.
- A salary certificate.
- A salary transfer certificate.
- A certificate from the Credit Bank.
- A property register certificate for both husband and wife.
Note that four of the six concern the couple, not the applicant alone: the civil ID, the property register, the contract and what follows from it. Only the two financial certificates concern the salary earner.
The steps as the portal describes them
- Submit the application to the citizen service department and receive a review slip.
- The slip carries three pieces of information: the transaction number, the department handling the request, and the review appointment.
- Attend the applications and research department at the time written on the slip.
Two details worth noticing
The first is that the service is free: fixed fees zero, variable fees zero. Nothing is paid at submission.
The second is that the application comes in two forms under the same heading: a file with rent allowance, and a file without it. You choose between them at submission, not afterwards.
