Five Ice Rinks: An Hour on the Ice, and Skates from Size 25 to 46

Skating alone from age five; boots and helmet are in the admission; no dishdasha or abaya.

Below Zero runs rinks in five malls: The Avenues, Assima, Marina Mall, Khiran Mall and Jahra Mall. One ticket buys sixty minutes on the ice.

The conditions

  • Age five and above skate independently; a four-year-old needs an accompanying adult.
  • Skates and helmet are included in the admission, and the stock covers shoe sizes 25 to 46.
  • Sports clothing is enforced: trousers or a T-shirt. No dishdasha and no abaya on the ice.
  • No time extension for late arrival, and no cancellations or refunds.

The add-ons, with prices

  • Gloves, KD 1.000.
  • Socks, KD 1.000.
  • Skating Buddy, KD 1.500 per hour — not included, and first-come, first-served.

The academy

Accredited by the Ice Skating Institute Asia on the American ISI system. One-on-one is KD 60 per person for four sessions; a group of two or three is KD 35 per person for four sessions. Each session is half an hour of teaching and half an hour of practice the same day, with entrance and skate rental included. Enquiries on 98003166, 98775941 and 55689911.

What the site does not publish

The admission price itself appears only inside the booking flow, after a branch and a date are chosen, and per-branch hours are not published at all because they follow the mall’s. The Assima branch also holds a snow playground and the Jumparoo soft-play area.
