Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation has denied an announcement by one of the airlines operating at Kuwait International Airport that transit flights would begin on 1 October.
The authority’s spokesman, Abdullah Al-Rajhi, said the announcement was not correct, and that no airline operating at the airport had been told or notified that transit operations would start on that date.

A booking made on the promise of connecting through Kuwait in early October rests on something the regulator itself has denied in writing. The authority says any development on transit operations will be announced through its own official channels, not through an airline’s advertisement.
What happens to the airline
The authority told carriers at the airport to check their facts and go through its own departments before publishing anything about operations or air services. It criticised inaccurate announcements for confusing passengers and the public, and said it would take the necessary measures and hold the airline concerned to account under the applicable rules.
The statement did not name the airline.
