Most restaurants give you one option per item: take it or leave it. “Off the Coal” in Sharq builds its menu on the opposite idea — every burger has a smaller version at a lower price, so you taste two or three instead of betting on one.
The menu is built in pairs
The two columns face each other: burgers in one, sliders in the other, under the same names — classic, ribeye, truffle, pastrami, chicken. The difference between them is size and price, not composition. The restaurant calls this section “one item, two builds”.
In practice, a table that orders four different sliders tries four kinds for roughly the price of two full plates. That is how the menu is meant to be read on a first visit.
Where and when
- Address: Ahmad Al-Jaber Street, Kuwait City.
- Hours: every day from 12:30 in the afternoon to 11:30 at night, with no closing day.
- Walk-ins are accepted, and the account says “walk-ins welcome”, with an online booking gate for anyone who prefers it.
- Dine-in and takeaway.
The number to know before you go
The price of a burger is not the bill. Average spend a head, as reported by more than three hundred and fifty people on Google Maps, falls between 10 and 35 dinars. The gap between that figure and the price of a single item is explained by what gets added around it: starters, fries, drinks and dessert.
So if you are planning a visit on a set budget, work from the bill rather than the first line on the menu. And ask for current prices when you order, since the menu changes and the restaurant runs monthly offers on particular items.
Why it is busy
The restaurant’s official account posts rarely and has followers in the tens of thousands, and it is rated 4.8 out of five on Google Maps from more than two thousand reviews. That is the profile of a relatively new restaurant that arrived hard, and it has one practical meaning: the evening is peak, and anyone who wants a comfortable table goes early or books.
