The community service and continuing education department at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training opens its courses to the public, not to its own students alone. And the single condition written into the service description is simple to the point of surprising: that the applicant can read and write.
Who it is for
Citizens and residents alike. No age condition, no qualification, no employer.
Where to register
Registration is in person at one of three sites belonging to the department:
- Jaber Al Abdullah Al Sabah secondary school — boys.
- College of Basic Education — girls.
- Kadhima intermediate school — girls.
The steps
- Bring proof of identity.
- Choose the training programme.
- Fill in the service form, which the relevant clerk checks.
- Pay the fee.
The fee
It runs from twenty to thirty-five dinars per programme, with no variable charges on top. Which means the gap between the cheapest programme and the dearest is fifteen dinars and no more — making the choice of programme a question of time and interest rather than budget.
