Government Fees in Kuwait: One Table

One table gathering the government fees Kuwait One has covered, ordered from the smallest to the largest. Every figure comes from its official source, and the link underneath explains the conditions and the paperwork.

Last updated: 3 September 2026. Fees change, and this page is updated in place.

No fee at all

  • Nothing — the craft workshops at the community development centres, for Kuwaiti women. The catch is not money but the calendar: registration closes a fortnight before the workshop runs. Details
  • Nothing — a licence for a temporary exhibition, which instead costs five approvals and caps the show at fifteen days. Details
  • Nothing — collecting the valuation letter in an expropriation, and objecting to the assessment on the form. Details
  • Nothing — a year of training at the Kuwait Automotive Academy, where the price is full availability and English before the interview. Details

Under five dinars

  • Fifty fils — per SMS when renewing the civil ID by text — which makes the text route dearer the more messages it takes. Details
  • One dinar — agricultural extension courses, and one civil ID is enough. Details
  • Two dinars — a vehicle inspection record at traffic. Details
  • Two dinars — each export plate. Details
  • Two dinars — cancelling a car export, with two days to get the vehicle out. Details
  • 2.500 dinars — each temporary customs plate. Details
  • Three dinars — an entry visa for treatment inside Kuwait, which opens only on a hospital’s letter of admission. Details
  • Three dinars — a replacement five-year passport, issued after a five-month legal wait. Details
  • Four dinars — testing a galvanised fitting at the public works laboratory. Details

Five to ten

  • Five dinars — the fixed civil ID renewal fee, paid on the authority’s website. Details
  • Five dinars — registering a new vehicle — all traffic charges for it. Details

Three questions that keep coming up

What does replacing a lost car registration book cost?

Ten dinars, and it starts with a police report. A damaged book is five and needs no report — so a book you can barely read is better treated as damaged before it becomes lost.

Is there a fee that costs more to renew than to issue?

Yes, one: the light transport (pickup) driving permit. Ten dinars to issue, seventeen to renew. Every other permit on the traffic page is cheaper to renew, or the same.

Which of these cost nothing?

Four: the craft workshops at the community development centres, a temporary exhibition licence, the valuation letter and objection in an expropriation, and a year at the Automotive Academy. In each of them the real cost is a condition rather than a fee — a deadline, a prior licence, or full availability.

Where is a late vehicle licence fee paid?

Not at traffic. The five-dinar late fee is paid at the traffic violations investigation section, which is a separate errand from the renewal itself.

Services whose fee is not stated by the issuing body are not listed here — this page carries figures, not estimates. The full conditions for each line are in its own post, and there is more in the
How To section.
