On Messilah Beach there is a beach club that men do not enter: Villa Shams. The site describes it as the first beach club in Kuwait dedicated to women, open daily from 9 in the morning to 6 in the evening.
What is there
A temperature-controlled infinity pool ringed by palm trees, with sun loungers and shaded cabanas. The staff are all women.
The conditions to read before booking
Age. Admission is for sixteen and above. The site says “family days” are announced at set times in advance, so anyone wanting to bring young children is waiting on an announcement.
Photography. Phones are allowed, with regard for other guests’ privacy, but filming or content creation requires prior approval from management.
Food. Bringing food and drink from outside is not allowed; all orders come from the venue’s own facilities.
Tanning products. Only clear, non-staining products are permitted. Coloured ones are banned because they mark the facilities.
Towels. Available in the changing rooms, and returned after use.
Management does not accept responsibility for personal belongings left unattended, and reserves the right to refuse entry where a case does not fit the venue’s policy.
The price does not show up straight away
Booking goes through the Villa Shams website. On testing, the calendar opened only a handful of days, and the ticket price appeared only after choosing a date and signing in with an account. If you want the figure before that, calling is faster.
