Kuwait adds 24 US graduate programmes to its approved study list

Kuwait’s National Bureau for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance has cleared 24 more graduate programmes at American universities. Administrative Decision 87 of 2026, issued by the bureau’s director general, Dr Jassem Al-Ali, adds them to the list of institutions Kuwaiti students are allowed to enrol in. It applies from the date it was issued.

The additions are 13 master’s programmes, 7 doctorates and 4 combined master’s-and-PhD tracks, leaning heavily towards robotics, physiology, anatomy and health policy.

Master’s

• Purdue University, West Lafayette: interdisciplinary engineering (robotics).
• Johns Hopkins University: robotics engineering.
• New York University: mechatronics and robotics; human skeletal biology.
• University of North Texas: data science.
• University of Virginia: public policy.
• University of Michigan, Ann Arbor: molecular and integrative physiology.
• Case Western Reserve University: medical physiology; applied anatomy (thesis track).
• University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill: public health, health policy and management.
• Penn State: integrative and biomedical physiology.
• University of Missouri, Columbia: pathology and anatomical sciences.
• University of Illinois Chicago: medical physiology.

Doctorates

• Augusta University: cellular biology and anatomy.
• University of Michigan, Ann Arbor: molecular and cellular pathology.
• Dartmouth: health policy and clinical practice.
• University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill: pathobiology and translational science; health policy and management.
• University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign: molecular and integrative physiology.
• Vanderbilt University: molecular physiology and biophysics.

Combined master’s and PhD

• University of Louisville: anatomical sciences and neurobiology.
• Saint Louis University: anatomy.
• University of Pittsburgh: health services research and policy.
• University of Minnesota, Twin Cities: integrative biology and physiology.

The conditions

Study has to be full-time and in person, in a conventional programme, and the programme must already have graduated its first cohort. The Ministry of Higher Education’s rules on studying abroad still apply on top. Being on the list means you may enrol; it is not a scholarship.
