Kuwait University takes second-semester applications online, 16 to 23 December
Minimum grades of 70% science and 78% arts, with some applicants still queuing at the Sabah Al-Salem hall.

Kuwait University will take applications for the second semester of the 2026-2027 academic year online from 16 to 23 December 2026, the acting dean of admission and registration, Dr Fadel Abbas Aziz, announced.
Who applies online
The online window is for Kuwaitis and GCC nationals who finished school in Kuwait: the unified state system, the religious institute, American and British-curriculum schools, and students expecting to graduate from British-curriculum schools this year. Applications go through the admission portal at portal.ku.edu.kw/admission.
Graduates of the state system and the religious institute are confirmed online with no visit to the admissions hall. American and British-curriculum graduates have a separate confirmation period in the university’s timetable.
Who goes in person
All other admission categories apply at the admission and registration hall in Sabah Al-Salem University City, 20 to 23 December, during official working hours.
Transfers from other universities and from PAAET colleges, and members of the Kuwaiti army and National Guard, apply from 13 December 2026 to 14 January 2027. Cultural scholarship students apply from 6 to 24 December.
Minimum grades
No application is accepted below 70% in the science track or 78% in the arts track of the secondary certificate. For Kuwaiti students with disabilities the floor is 65% and 72%; they bring a valid disability certificate from the Public Authority for Disability Affairs plus medical reports and apply at the hall, unless they reach 70% or 78%, in which case they apply online like everyone else.
For Kuwaiti students, each programme admits on a composite score built from the aptitude tests and the school percentage. The College of Science is the exception: it uses the school percentage alone.
Easy to miss
A TOEFL or IELTS score can replace the English aptitude test in that score, but only if it is submitted before the application window closes. The same score can also exempt a student from the preparatory English course if it is handed in by the end of the first week of classes.
Students at British-curriculum schools who have not yet graduated apply in the same window, then have two working days from the release of their final results to hand them to the admissions deanship.
Nothing is accepted after the window, and the university can cancel an admission if documents are missing or the data turns out to be wrong.
